Illegal immigrants are preparing to protest again. Like it's really going to mean something this big push on their part. If they have to protest why don't they protest over something really important like the ongoing genocide and repression by islamists in Darfur? Oh no! It's way more important that they get some stupid symbolic victory over the will of the American people, proving to us once and for all that we'd all be helpless without them. "Forget all the pain, murder and suffering going on somewhere else in the world and pay attention to our little problem" is what they are saying.
In some ways I'm totally looking forward to this because maybe it will wake America up. More importantly it will prove that life will go on just fine without slave labor.

I'll offend some with this comment, but oh well, here's your conspiracy theory for the day:
It looks to me like Mexico is attempting to reclaim the territory that it lost to the US so long ago. It's almost an ingenius invasion if you think of it that way. Send more and more people here to take hold from the 'bottom'. Take advantage of the money hungry corporations who are more than willing to collude by hiring the invading forces which then proliferate the 'alien' language even now to the point of the National Anthem. These people have come here demanding rights that they haven't earned in the prescribed fashion. Their attitude that 'might makes right' as illustrated by their attempts to 'cripple' the ecomony which has so generously supported them looks to me like the same kind of tantrum that a small child throws when s/he wants the candy that isn't theirs.
They are showing their total ignorance of and disrespect for the American Way. If what they are doing is the Mexican Way then we can see how well it has worked in Mexico!
Indeed, I don't think that their May 1 stunt will affect the lives of most Americans other than to show us an immature bunch of toddlers saying, "Gimme, gimme, gimme, or I'm just going to sit here and pout." We've all seen the upset child in the store that sits in the candy aisle and won't get up until mommy buys them the candy. Let's not give in.
Sorry, got a little carried away with my rant.
On top of greedy corporations, a scheming mexican't government and desperate, aggresive illegals there is the intentional propaganda by misguided amateur spin-doctors like Cornholio Brown ( see this series of comments on the Savage Farmer broadcasting network for some of his/her/its patented blather:
Cornholio's ramblings ;-) He could give a crap less about the consequences to either America or the unfortunate immigrant who is effectively a slave in this country. So long as he gets to gratify his own ego by showing off CB isn't about to engage in a conversation which might actually require the consideration of someone else's point-of-view.
Been researching this a bit. Did you know that America paid for the land Mexico "lost" to us? Not only with blood during the Mexican-American war but also 15 million dollars directly after. That's 15 meg in 1848 money. If their government hadn't wasted it all on tequila and palaces and invested in some infrastructure and industry instead these people would all have safe, productive jobs back in their home towns instead of having to put up with us surly gringos.
