What's not to understand? They've employed the rules of quantum mechanics to circumvent a restriction previously caused by our lack of knowledge about the interactions of light and matter.

The net result will be the ability to image much smaller cellular structures as well as the potential motion control issues that light can bring to the molecular level. Should be interesting to see if they can incorporate some of the "laser tweezer" developments with this.
