The Problem with democracy?

I'm not the first one of us to think it either so don't get all high and mighty with me.
The answer is "stupid people can vote too"

This image is totally for real, I found it on a dollar in the store today. Someone who can't even spell "Oprah" thinks we should "vote" for her, whatever that means. Maybe we can get her passed as a ballot initiative? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Oprah or anything, but come on!

Well, I'm kind of anti-Oprah. lol I mean what is the deal with her thinking that she's so great every time she loses the same 50 pounds? She has no children to worry with, no husband to worry with, a personal chef to prepare her healthy food, and a personal trainer to make her exercise. If I had her lifestyle I'd look way better than I do. It's stupid for people to celebrate her weight-loss "achievements" when she really has very little responsibility for her own behavior. I'd like for her to live my life for about a month and then she'd really appreciate all the extra help she has. It is a very clear signal to many of us that most of the top level women in nearly every field are childless. Of course a woman can achieve super-greatness when she only has to take care of herself and no one else. Yeah, yeah, sour grapes, I know it sounds that way. Really though, I wouldn't want to trade places with her.

Anyway, about democracy, it can be scary sometimes to think about stupid people voting. Used to, there was a literacy requirement, but I think they got rid of that because someone decided it was racist or prejudiced or whatever.
