Some politics

This was sort of a mind-blower. After El Presidente Bush pardoned Scooter Libby today I found a link to Clinton's pardons, just to compare. Whoa! He sure pardoned a lot of pot-heads and rum runners. Ol' Slick Willy, those were the days. When no one inhaled and the muslims still loved us.

Thanks for the link.

It would be helpful if the list included additional information about each pardon. How much of the original sentence was served? Was the individual in such bad health that the pardon was an act of mercy? Etc.

For example Patty Hearst, her pardon was long after she had served her sentence and was largely ceremonial. It did not prevent her from serving her the sentence imposed on her.

In the case of Libby, Bush's pardon has much wider ramifications. Clearly, this pardon was a political, a reward for Libby's lying services.

Whereas the hundreds of bank frauds, rum runners, and coke dealers that Clinton pardoned were purely for altruistic purposes, no doubt.

I agree, it would help if the list had more details: how much did Slick Willy personally benefit from these pardons? What were the other social connections he shared with these people? How many of them made contributions to his campaign? Which one did he buy his pot from?

Don't get me wrong, I think they're all crooks. Full disclosure of all political, financial and social connections from both parties would frighten us all!

Yes, Guy, yours is the proper perspective on this. Thanks!
