After today's power outage Grants Pass Irrigation District's new 40 million dollar pumps have failed us. Aren't we all glad that the federal government spent this money here rather than providing for education to our children? What a wonderful turn of events those oh-so intelligent environmentalists have brought us. Fortunately we can go back to burning coal to pump water as soon as they get this fixed.

I would estimate that maybe 1 in 50 folks I've spoken to about the dam(n) removal have been happy about it. Just doesn't make any sense. My husband ran into one of the pump engineers at the barbershop in RR, who told him that the dam could have been completely rebuilt, with modern fish ladders and turbines, at less cost than these stupid pumps. I'm afraid to find out what the irrigation assessment will be next year.
