Dreams that might be real

I dreamt about her last night. More details than the dream realm has ever yielded up.
There is a housing tract development between the city of Central Point and Seven Oaks farm on Hwy. 99/Blackwell Road. Out front is a white fence split rail style but probably not actually rail. I dreamt her house was a block or two into that development. I caught a glimpse of the white plaster walls of her house. She had two cats and needed some advice on some computer software. The dream got a little fuzzy but I think she was looking for some kind of audio/visual eye-candy software. I pointed out Bomb to her which is a very fun little package for music visualization.

I'm always left puzzled by dreams like this. There's really no way to use this sort of information. I'm not about to go cruising that neighborhood looking for something familiar. What would I do or say? A total stranger acting on the impulse of a dream has no explanation. Well, at least I get the sensation that she's a real person and the universe isn't all out of whack. I'm a big believer in complimentary opposites as described by the Tao so I figure if I'm alive she must be too.

Today is another welding day. Hopefully not too much lifting as my back is still aching from yesterday. Rain is supposed to hold off until afternoon.
Have a great day!

Crazy with the rain

Another pourin' down day. Check out the nexrad image here to see exactly what's happening at my abode.
My usual assorted aches and pains this morning but no interesting dreams to report last night.
Today will be another day of welding and work at my brother's shop. Maybe do some seed sprouting action and some seed catalog orders too.
Hope your day is sweet and wonderful.

Just back from the welding shop

And boy are my arms tired. Helped dad and bro move some cement board inside out of the weather.
Dad and I finished putting the super blackberry shredder 3000 together. It's his design and when we got it home and tested it on the blackberries in the vineyard it ran; Flying Colors! A wonderful rainbow of shredded purple, red and green blackberry vines flying in the air. Would've done more but have to go get safety goggles!
The pulled muscle in my side (or pinched nerve in my back, I'm not sure which) has been bugging me again today. After near a week without any pain. Gettin' old Guy. It's weird 'cause it goes away almost completely when I'm standing, walking or working. Praying for better geriatrics!
Hope your day is full of love and light.

A welding we will go on a rainy day

No dreams to report last night. 9.5 hours of blissful recovery.
It is just Rai-ainin! Pour'n down even.
Spending time welding at my brother's shop. I freakin' love that wire-feed even if it is taking quite a bit of getting used to. Here's a picture of the box scraper I welded on yesterday:

The shiny grey/black streak is my weld. Glad that image is a little blurry or you'd be able to see how poorly I did. But it will hold.
Best wishes for your day! Happiness: pass it on.

Friday farming

But not really Farming per-se. Got a late start but been pretty busy so far.
1st last nights dreams: I dreamt I was pulling a log splitter with a little blue car I used to own. The log splitter came loose at one point and skidded off the road. As I was getting it hooked back to the car a fella came to the barbwire fence between the road and his pasture and started talking to me. He pointed out the giant sloths he was raising. They were like 30 foot tall and they walked besides the road and down to a beach where some others were already walking in the surf. Freaky! Dreams like that always leave me feeling a little depressed the next day. Especially when my wisdom teeth are bugging me.
So today dad and I hauled a cement mixer and a blackberry shredder that we're working on over to my brothers shop. Things weren't going well for the bro. Some dumb broad in Rogue River named Julie Birch or something like that has been calling in complaints about his horses. That they are underfed. What a laugh! His animals eat as well as I do. He does have one old horse about 35 years old that always looks skinny but it's well fed. So his whole day yesterday was shot down by this one dumb broad sticking her nose where it didn't belong. And now he has to spend like 300$ to have a vet come out and check just so the state animal control dude can tell that lady to take a hike. What ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty" ? Here my brother has to pay to defend himself from some driveby veterinarian who hasn't the foggiest what she's talking about.
End of rant I'm sure you can relate.
Well, a few more minutes for lunch and then we'll be back to the welding shop.
Hope whatever you're "farming" today goes wonderful and fine. Enjoy your time on this good green earth.

Acemetrical

Acemetrical a mind after my own thoughts. This dude has some common sense and states the case better than I could though. It's ridiculous to have a system that is so account sloppy.

Post lunch weirdness

Was out pruning in the apples and the neighbor who lives to the west of us popped up in the driveway. He was kinda jumpy lookin' and kept talking in a really low whisper. I've been driving on tractors too long without ear protection so I couldn't make out a word he was saying. Apparently he needed to use my cell-phone. He wanted to use mom and dad's land line but with them gone their house was locked. He was very distrustful of my cell phone. That dude really sort of creaped me out probably because I was in such a pleasant state when he interrupted me. Plus he keeps bringing his big black dog "chewy" over and that really torks Sparky.
Mom and dad are off on an appointment for their medicine coverage. Being alone here makes it even creapier. Good thing I was packin'
Hope your day is smooth and mellow.

Sore muscles good work day

Oh delightful winter sun! Spent a good couple hours pruning today. Ran errands in Rogue River. Helped dad a little as he put together a new spray rig for spraying the trees with dormant treatment. Also mixed up potting soil and pittered around the small greenhouse. Ground still too wet to put up the big greenhouse.
Rain supposed to show up tomorrow night. Ug, yay! Will try to get back on plant tissue culture if that lasts any length of time. Just gotta assemble things for a sterile wash then I can pressure cook a batch and pour plates and some small jars. Going to try shoot proliferation with dahlias and begonias and african violets. Can always get roots later.
Hope the next few moments of your life are full of cheer and joy.

hollywood

hollywood is a full on whigger but has some great daily quotes. Thanks for the thinks hollywood.

Romance blast

Just caught myself listening to Captain and Tenille "Do that to me one more time" Wow does that take me back.
1980 I was like a freshman or something. The world was a wide open adventure just waiting to be lived and I was sure I was the smartest person on the planet. Feh! but at least I wasn't a totally cold fish, that song brings back some fine and tastey bittwersweet memories. My highschool was blessed by some fine babes and despite what I thought I wasn't smart enough to really appreciate them. Here's a tip of the figurative beer glass to those ladies.

Super lovely work day.

What a great day to be working under the open sky of southern Oregon! In this image are a couple of my unpruned apple trees, the massive Fielder Mountain, part of the vineyard and a superlative mid-winter sky.

This has been a great work day for killing blackberries, hauling off junk and other odious tasks. Unfortunately it's not a burn day or I could burn up some pruning waste and blackberry vines.
Notice the delightful little cloud keeping guard over winter on Mt. Fielder. Days this lovely make me wonder where she is and what she's doing. Is she enjoying the wonderful sky? I certainly hope so.
You have a great day.

Things that may have happened in the mid-pacific

Taking a walk in the cold before twilight the last pale light of the day shining on the hill across the valley.
Sparky was looking for jets.
I got an intimation of a sci-fi story. 4 or 6 years ago I can't remember exactly when, the Apple Corporation lost a shipment of several boxcars full of their Macintosh computer's CPU. They fell overboard in heavy storm weather.
This is like hundreds of thousands of processors. This adversely affected Apple stocks.
Though I don't know where in the pacific this event transpired my mind pictured the boxcars falling through deep water. Eventually any air trapped in the packaging would reach crush pressures. Perhaps the boxcars broke open as they fell.
Beneath them there was an extent of active volcanic vents, the so-called "black smokers" of the ring of fire. The CPUs blown free of the boxcars by currents would drift down like plastic wrapped black snowflakes. Surrounding most black smokers are thriving communities of diverse organisms adapted to the darkness, heat and pressure as well as the intense chemistries.
How would thousands of advanced late 20th century technological devices interact with such a dynamic environment? Water temperature ranging from hot enough in some places to melt away any plastic to cold enough to freeze methane. Highly acidic sulfur chemistries mixing with the chloride chemistries of deep ocean water sucked into the vent system. Even in the cold regions the saline environment would work on the tiny connection points intended to attach to motherboards. Near the vents tens of thousands of chips and their plastic wrappers would melt and congeal as they were sucked into plume of superheated water. Streamers of polymer and doped silicon would drape the rising stone columns that were the throats of the black smoker communities.
In one place a boxcar still half full crashed into a stone pillar, bursting open a spewing vent and partially crushing a colony of tube worms. One end of the box car was quickly eaten away by the vicious hot acidic vent water. Chips and polymers formed a viscous pool beneath and within the canted boxcar.
Over the years the copper and aluminum contacts of the chips near the metal rich sulfide plume reacted to produce spurious currents that would partially charge buffer memory or activate a pipeline. Metal deposited on the most negative contacts and slowly ate away from the most positive ones. Some chips were compromised by saline others destroyed by heat. But what about the tens upon tens of thousands still left, tucked into every nook and cranny of this tiny biome? Bits of code and circuitry designed by evolutionary algorhythms and optimization theory. Flickering briefly into activity. Gigabyte after gigabyte of cache memory being read and written by the charges migrating through salinated mats of bacteria. Crystals of metal and metal sulfide slowly growing through films of polyethylene. Nearly pure silicon partially dissolving, entering the food chain and metabolism of a rapidly evolving ecology.

Freaky Fog

Here I am activating my Quantum Modulator. It's sort of like a garage door opener for alternate universes.

Notice the trippy fog on the ridge line.
It hung there in the trees all day.
Things could be seen indistinctly
Things within the fog
Things that moved and seemed to
take on shape. Shapes with spikes
and horns and armor woven of barbwire.
Good thing I had my
Quantum Modulator

Mike's Thoughts in a Delirious State of Mind.: Hillary .. What have you gone and done now? Are you sleeping with the enemy? (Pro-Regime Iranians)
I don't know Mike? More disturbing news. And to think I used to like Hillary, she made such good french toast; who'd have thunk she was making breakfast for the enemy?

Steve Winwood Rocks my Day

Just heard it on the radio. So delighted I had to quick post something. The lyrics:
While You See a Chance - Steve Winwood

Stand up in a clear blue morning
Until you see what can be
Alone in a cold day dawning
Are you still free? Can you be?

When some cold tomorrow finds you
When some sad old dream reminds you
How the endless road unwinds you

While you see a chance take it
Find romance fake it
Because it's all on you

Don't you know by now
No one gives you anything
Don't you wonder how you keep on moving
One more day your way, go your way

When there's no one left to leave you
Even you don't quite believe you
That's when nothing can deceive you

While you see a chance take it
Find romance fake it
Because it's all on you

Stand up in a clear blue morning
Until you see what can be
Alone in a cold day dawning
Are you still free? Can you be?

And that old gray wind is blowing
And there's nothing left worth knowing
And it's time you should be going

While you see a chance take it
Find romance fake it
Because it's all on you

While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance
While you see a chance take it
Find romance....

Evolution Vs. Intelligent Design

Science without religion is lame,
religion without science is blind.

Albert Einstein, "Science, Philosophy and Religion: a Symposium", 1941
Thanks EB

AND THEN WHAT?

AND THEN WHAT?
Wonderful thought provoking poetry.

Simplicity

X versus U has a delightful story of snow innocence. He doesn't know that he does lives in a book.

Why we can't figure out our government

The Congressional Millionaires Club an article by Charles Sullivan explains quite succinctly why everyone else in America is out of touch with the actions of those sent to "govern" us. It doesn't matter whether you're liberal or conservative, your representation is already owned by some third party special interest or else just the financial interests of those we've voted in.
